For an affiliate program to be deemed successful, what percentage of overall company sales should it be doing?.

If you look around small and medium affiliate programs you will find that if an affiliate program accounts for 10-15% of a company’s sales then it’s good especially if it’s around 15%.

An alternative way to initially position your affiliate program’s rate is giving affiliates a figure near to 25% of your net profit...

Another way is to just take a look around at what other similar affiliate programs on your portion of the market actually pay.

I have looked at many programs, and though I'm not going to berate them individually, what I have found is that the level of work associated with your proposal should be taken into account when fine tuning your rates.

This is the crux on the percentage paid in a program, ask yourself, Is it enough for the affiliate to send a customer to your website with a link for them to get 25% of your profit? Or would you expect the affiliate to deal with the customer? Answer pre-sales questions? Host data collection forms? Actually take the order and then pass it along to you?
